Long gone, but never forgotten.
For each of our ancestors was once the present. From all these pasts, we have emerged — and through us, their story continues.
This website is dedicated to my maternal grandparents, DAVID WALKER (1875–1957) and MARY MARKLEY (1881–1951) — and especially to all their descendants — as a remembrance of the people from whose lives our own story has emerged.
As diverse as the paths of our ancestors were, they eventually crossed. Every life, every encounter, every decision, and every generation formed another link in the long chain that ultimately led to us. Had even one of those links been different, our own story might never have existed.
These chronicles seek to preserve more than names and dates. They tell, wherever possible, of the origins, lives, occupations, journeys, struggles, and destinies of those who came before us.

The information is drawn from family memories, including recollections of relatives who have since passed away, genealogical research, historical records, and freely available literature.
